Assists with the treatment of patients as required by the dentist within the state guidelines, limiting functions of dental auxiliaries Maintains clinic instruments, carts, trays and equipment in a clean and orderly manner, including sterilization, equipment maintenance and minor cleaning operations according to established protocols Exposes, develops and mounts x-rays Responsible for accurate and complete dental records in accordance with IWS Quality Assurance protocols, as well as assuring copies of manual paperwork are forwarded to HIM for proper scanning into EMR OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Communicates pertinent information to the dental staff to allow for continuity of treatment in daily operations Assists in the maintenance and provision of dental charts and EMR records Performs other related duties as assigned by the VP, Dental Services or designee QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School diploma. Licensure: N/A Experience: One-year experience in a dental setting. Certified Dental assistant is preferable and/or Certificate in Expanded Duty Dental Assisting Excellent communication skills and chairside assisting PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work with both hands Ability to operate all dental equipment and instruments Ability to sit, stand, speak, write and type Including, but not limited to, various settings within dental operations: dental clinic, lab, front office, wearing protective clothing during treatment (i.e. gloves, masks, etc.) SUPERVISES None COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to speak fluently in English and Spanish Ability to learn dental terms Ability to communicate well with the dental team, patients, and parents WORKING CONDITIONS: Including, but not limited to, various settings within the dental operations, dental clinic, front office, wearing protective clothing during treatment (i.e. gloves, masks, etcxe2x80xa6) EQUIPMENT USED: Dental equipment and instruments X-ray machine, including Panorex, Nitrus Processing machine Phone Computer General Office Equipment Job Type: Full-time Pay: $19.00 – $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Experience: Dental assisting: 1 year (Required) License/Certification: X-Ray Certification (Preferred) Ability to Commute: Chicago, IL 60647 (Required) Ability to Relocate: Chicago, IL 60647: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
