Opening Full Time 37.50 hours Range URCA 205 EIOH Orthodontics Schedule 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM Responsibilities Supervision and Direction Received: General direction by the Lead Dental Assistant or Department Administrator on matters relating to practice operations. Job Summary: Participates in the daily operations of the Orthodontic/TMJD Clinical Program. Works primarily as the sterilization assistant for the division. Sterilizes instruments in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Division and Center. Orders supplies and instruments needed for the sterilization area. Provides chairside assistance where needed. Provides exemplary customer service to patients and care providers. Provides administrative duties to department as needed. Job Duties: Maintains responsibility for the daily operation of the sterilization room and Labs. Ensures instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, maintained and distributed. Cleans, organizes and maintains sterilization area including maintaining equipment, keeping inventory of supplies, organizing and storing hazardous materials and maintaining assigned log books. (70%) Participates in daily operation of clinic including: (30%) Ordering & Inventory of Supplies Stocking chairside cabinets Cleaning & maintaining traps, suction, lights, cabinets, dental chairs, etc. Assisting Residents with chairside procedures Attends infection control meetings as representative from Orthodontic/TMJD Division Maintains infection control policies and procedures including required education NOTE: This document describes typical duties and responsibilities. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined byconsidering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
