Support the students, faculty and patients in the Pediatric Dentistry clinic. Duties and Responsibilities Answer phone calls from patients and other staff within the Dental School. Screen patients and schedule appointments in the Practice Management software (axiUm). Verify Medicaid coverage through the ForwardHealh Portal and register in patientxe2x80x99s chart in axiUm. Become knowledgeable of basic Medicaid frequency rules to establish appointment scheduling appropriately. Be responsive to queries, questions, and complaints, recording accurate messages and directing unresolved problems. Maintain the appointment book including posting student daily schedule rotations and assigning students to charts. Reconcile treatment and balances after each appointment. Monitor student attendance and record in axiUm. Process forms for new patient registration, patient transfer, patient inactivation, and patient recall. Monitor required Medicaid pre-authorizations. Maintain patient hygiene recall system. Audit patient charts for graduating (senior) dental students by assuring all treatment has been properly documented and paid in full. Coordinate Hospital cases with Faculty. Serve as the liaison between the patient and dental student and between students and faculty. Order office supplies using the Marquette purchasing software. Sort and distribute mail. Attend meetings, training sessions and seminars as directed by your supervisor. Perform all related duties as required or assigned including direct dental assistance. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities High School education plus knowledge of dental terminology and patient management skills is required. Familiarity with word processing software is also required. Must have a pleasant demeanor and excellent customer relation skills. Bilingual in Spanish a plus. Must be flexible, able to work and communicate with people from a diverse population and have the ability to work independently with little supervision and constant interruptions in an environment that can often be stressful. Must be CPR certified or become certified within 6 months of employment. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bilingual in Spanish. Previous experience working in an academic setting helpful.
