The Professional Requirements You Must Have: xc2xb7 Minimum 1+ yearsxe2x80x99 experience xc2xb7 State certification/license as required to work as a Dental Hygienist xc2xb7 In depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g., HIPPA, OSHA) The Clinical Duties You Will Perform: xc2xb7 Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before and during their examination. xc2xb7 Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history. xc2xb7 Educate patients on how to care for their teeth with good oral hygiene, including proper brushing and flossing. xc2xb7 Clean and remove stains, plaque, and tartar from teeth. xc2xb7 Apply flourides and sealants for tooth protection. xc2xb7 Take and develop dental x-rays xc2xb7 Document treatment plans and care performed on patients. xc2xb7 Sterilize instruments and equipment.
