Job Description: Answers all incoming calls in a prompt, courteous and professional manner Routes calls and messages appropriately Follows standard operating procedures (SOPs) for obtaining pertinent information depending on nature of call. Presents a personable, resourceful approach to problem solving, as well as support and help to all callers. Greets patients/visitors and provides assistance as appropriate. Obtains pre-patient registration, demographic and insurance information and enters appropriately into Patient Management System (PM) or Electronic Health Record (EHR). Including all paper/electronic documents. Requests, collects, documents, and assesses all appropriate records to ensure patient has been scheduled properly and all necessary records have been obtained for evaluation in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Ensures referring physicians have received communication regarding the new patient visit and continuous continuity of care communications are followed Communicate with outside entities to obtain patient medical history records when appropriate. Ensure all necessary medical information is obtained and entered into patients electronic medical record ahead of appointment Runs and/or works daily reports to identify patients with unscheduled orders Performs tasks related to Governmental, Insurance and Quality Initiative Programs: o Ensures communication is distributed to patients regarding program details o Generates and distributes to external providers office a Clinical Summary from Electronic Health Record (EHR) o Communicates information regarding Patient Engagement Portal and assists with registration process Demonstrates excellent customer service. Responds promptly to patient, physician and clinical requests. Other duties as assigned Ability to travel/float to other clinics for business needs Maintain and ensure confidentiality of patient information Adheres to all practice policies and procedures
