Description: Job ID SF9765 -0618-1709 Position Classification FT Staff Non-Union Position Summary This position is a Dental Assistant position designed to cover staff absences or temporary increased demand in each clinical department. Responsibilities include assisting in general dentistry, periodontic, oral surgery, endodontic, pedodontic, radiology, implants and sterilization. This position is designed to allow us more flexibility and efficiency with our human resources. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1) Perform dental assisting duties as they relate to each specific clinical area as needed. 2) Exposing, processing, and mounting digital radiographs. 3) Following all HIPAA, OSHA, and Infection Control guidelines. 4) Properly maintaining departmental records, use of EHR and other related duties. 5) Assist in any capacity in other areas of the clinic, as requested. 6) Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent. State of Michigan Radiology Certification. Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days. Preferred Qualifications Associates Degree preferred CDA/RDA preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must be competent in dental terminology and instrumentation, exposing, processing and mounting digital dental radiographs, assisting chairside in general and specialty dental procedures. Must be knowledgeable of proper HIPAA, OSHA, infection control guidelines. Experience assisting in implant surgical and perio surgery procedures is preferred. Must have experience using a personal computer. Physical Requirements Must be able to sit and bend. Must have manual dexterity to manage four handed dentistry and instrument transfer. Must be mobile and able to move around the building to escort patients to and from the operatory. Work Environment Standard dental operatory setting in a multi-discipline educational setting. Licenses/Certifications Current CPR certification required, or obtainable within 30 days. State of Michigan Radiology certification required. CDA/RDA preferred. Salary/Pay Information Commensurate with experience Anticipated Schedule Mon thru Fri with 40 total hours/week guaranteed Actual hours could possibly vary from 7:00 am till 2:30 pm OR 11:00 am till 6:30 pm. We now operate by staggering working hours, so flexibility is needed.
