Dental Assistant

Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: The Dental Assistant, under immediate supervision, as an assistant to a dentist or dental hygienist, performs work of moderate difficulty in the provision of comprehensive dental services to individuals who are medically underserved in a clinical setting. Performs related work as required. Participates in health fairs or community events on weekends as requested 3-4 times a year. The ideal candidate will have at least one year experience in assisting a dentist in the provision of comprehensive dental treatment services. Considerable skill in the use of a variety of dental instruments, equipment, and materials. Working skill in monitoring the vital signs of clients; in observing the effects of sedation and alerting the dentist of dental hygienist to possible problem areas; in utilizing appropriate dental terminology; and in preparing and updating client records. Working ability to assist in the training of dental personnel; and to recognize significant changes in the physical status of clients. A high school diploma or G.E.D. required. A dental assistant vocational school degree required. Certified to operate radiographic equipment in the State of Georgia also required for consideration.
