Dental Assistant

Job Summary: Aptive Resources is seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team at the VA Medical Center in Orlando, FL. The Dental Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting a licensed dentist with their day-to-day clinical duties, ensuring high-quality dental care for our veterans. This position requires a combination of technical skill, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm Primary Responsibilities: Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment. Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays). Manage infection control by preparing and disinfecting treatment rooms in accordance with current OSHA and CDC guidelines. Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures. Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health. Perform office management tasks as required. Ensure the dental operatory and lab areas are maintained in a clean, orderly, and ready-for-use state. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations. Minimum Qualifications: Successful completion of a 2-year dental assistant program or a 2-year dental hygiene program accredited by the American Dental Association’s Commission on Accreditation, which includes at least 12 semester hours of relevant coursework. Certification from the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) as a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) is required. Proven experience as a Dental Assistant preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
