Deliver classroom, lab, and clinical instruction. Conduct classroom assessment and evaluation activities. Participate in committee assignments and college-wide initiatives. Participate in department accreditation and review. Engage in professional development activities. Advocate on behalf of students, program and college. Required Qualifications Education Requirement Bachelor degree and graduate of an accredited dental assisting program. Occupational Experience Requirement Three full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a dental assistant. Recency Requirement One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years. Professional Requirement Dental Assistant certification by the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB). Current Dental Assistant License from the Minnesota Board of Dentistry. Preferred Qualifications Experience in or demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse and equity-focused working and learning environment. Teaching experience at the community/technical college level or demonstrated commitment to the mission, vision, and values of community and technical colleges. Evidence of active and experiential learning strategies. Experience in assessment of student learning that includes a variety of summative and formative strategies. Evidence of active and continuous professional development. Exceptional team player who is willing to devote time to students and the department. Familiarity with CODA and accrediting process. Other Requirements In accordance with the Minnesota State College and Universities Vehicle Fleet Safety program, employees driving on college business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota Statexe2x80x99s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
