SUMMARY: he Dental Assistant (DA), under the supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse, and/or the Physician, provides age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintains a safe environment, collects information, communicates effectively, and utilizes technology. Performs patient care tasks and selected therapies as delegated by a licensed professional. The role of the DA also includes patient advocacy, teaching and performance improvement. The DA functions in the ambulatory settings, such as Specialty Clinics and Neighborhood Health Centers. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED is required. Successful completion of a Dental Assistant Program or its equivalent is required. 0 to 3 years of experience as a Dental Assistant is required.
