About the Opportunity Kalamazoo Valley is seeking a full-time Instructor as part of the collegexe2x80x99s Dental Hygiene (DHY) program. Through the DHY program and the DHY onsite clinic, the individual in this position will provide services to the community and real-world experiences for our students. They will teach both day and afternoon courses as well as develop and support curriculum and participate in division, departmental and college activities. Applicants must be familiar and flexible with a variety of instructional strategies including an ability to utilize technology-based instruction in the classroom and have an understanding of the community college philosophy. This position is contingent upon funding and Board approval. Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in an appropriate field. Must be conferred prior to date of appointment. Must have a current Registered Dental Hygienist license within the State of Michigan or eligible for Michigan licensure. Michigan dental hygiene certification (or eligible) in local anesthesia administration and nitrous oxide analgesia administration. Minimum two (2) years of clinical dental hygiene experience. The final candidate will also be expected to meet required standards for immunizations, a criminal background check, and drug testing. The successful candidate may be appointed as the Director of the Dental Hygiene program, if qualified. The Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) requires a Masterxe2x80x99s Degree to fulfill the Directorxe2x80x99s appointment. Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Physical Demands: Standing for extended periods of time, ability to utilize indirect vision and tactile sensitivity.
