About us We are a busy office located just outside of the heart of Louisa, Va inside the Industrial Air Park. We are looking to add a Dental Hygienist to help treat our patients and help us promote good oral hygiene. Our office is open 4 days a week. Monday and Thursdays we are here 8-5 and Tuesday and Fridays we are here 8-3. Office is closed on Wednesdays and weekends. The ideal canidate for us must be friendly, dependable, team oriented and able to help put patients at ease while making sure they are receiving excellent hygiene techniques. We are a paperless office that utilizes Eaglesoft and Sigma Xray. So use of a computer and digital radiographs are a requirement. You will also be helping the dentist decide treatments for teeth or gum disease. Must be reliable and able to build relatiionships and trust with patients of all ages. Our work environment includes: Modern office setting Relaxed atmosphere Safe work environment Duties:- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing- Take and develop dental x-rays- Conduct oral cancer screenings- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical documentation and treatment plans- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality Skills:- Strong knowledge of dental office procedures and practices- Proficiency in dental anatomy and oral health conditions- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and interpretation- Experience using dental software programs such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for appointment scheduling, charting, and billing- Understanding of medical coding for dental procedures and insurance claims- Ability to take accurate vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse rate Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
