This is a part time position in a private, fee for service practice. The position requires working 1 evening per week and 2-3 Saturdays per month. There is no need to work Saturdays in the summer. We are looking for a Dental Hygienist who promotes good oral health practices. You must be proactive in advising patients on oral health and preventative care. Youxe2x80x99ll help our dentists plan treatment for teeth or periodontal diseases, utilizing intra-oral scanners as an aid. As a Dental Hygienist, you should be reliable and able to build trust with patients of all ages. If you have a compassionate, calming bedside manner, wexe2x80x99d like to meet you. Responsibilities Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before and during their examination Maintain impeccable infection control Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral and health history Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries and periodontitis Clean and help protect patientsxe2x80x99 teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride, sealants) Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques) Take digital intra-oral and panoramic radiographs and dental impressions Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer) Maintain documentation and charts on each patient Perform chairside teeth whitening. Skills Ability to scale and prophy meticulously, yet with the patients comfort in mind Certified to administer Nitrous Oxide and local anesthetics Outstanding communication skills A patient and friendly personality Attention to detail Valid licence to practice Job Type: Part-time Pay: $50.00 – $55.00 per hour Expected hours: 18 xe2x80x93 20 per week Benefits: 401(k) Employee discount Flexible schedule Work Location: In person
