To learn more about the School of Dentistry click: OHSU School of Dentistry Function/Duties of Position: The Dental Hygienist, under the supervision of a licensed dentist, trains patients in dental hygiene and renders preventive and therapeutic oral prophylaxis. Some employees in this class provide chair side dental assistance and, if licensed for expanded functions, may take patient x-rays and administer local anesthetic agents. Required Qualifications: Licensed by the Oregon Board of Dentistry as a Dental Hygienist BLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene Preferred Qualifications: Minimum one year of dental hygiene experience Experience working in a public health dental clinic Nitrous certification and or willing to get certified within 6 months of employment Additional Details: GENEROUS BENEFIT PACKAGE: Comprehensive medical, dental & vision care plans.
