Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our team at Dr. Bettner’s practice. As an EFDA, you will play a key role in assisting Dr. Bettner with various dental procedures, providing chairside support, and ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including restorative, surgical, and endodontic treatments.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments, equipment, and treatment areas for each patient.
- Perform expanded functions authorized by state regulations, such as placing and carving restorations, taking impressions, and fabricating temporary crowns.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, as required.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatment provided.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Assist with front desk duties, including scheduling appointments and coordinating patient flow, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program.
- EFDA certification or licensure in the state of Florida.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an EFDA in a dental practice.
- Proficiency in chairside assisting techniques and dental instrumentation.
- Strong knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient care and safety.
Pay Rate: $20-28 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
