Primary responsibility is to contribute to the success of the practice by building and maintaining successful working relationships with doctors and patients to provide quality patient orthodontia care and service. Make the patient the #1 priority; excellent chair side manner. Assist the doctor with all orthodontic procedures including but not limited to: Anticipate doctorxe2x80x99s needs Perform patient oral evaluations Take high quality x-rays and photos Assist in laboratory duties as needed Lead by example; exercise good teamwork, mutual respect for the team, partner with team to create an exceptional experience for the patient. Maintain flow of doctorxe2x80x99s schedule Perform efficient and accurate procedures to maintain smooth flow of patients throughout the day creating xe2x80x9cno patient wait timexe2x80x9d, maintain time flexibility for patient, be present, engaged and ready to work at all assigned times. Review the patient chart prior to the doctor arrival and log appropriate patient date during the exam and treatment as well as transcribe doctor notes in patient chart. Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPPA compliance. Follow OSHA and company safety policies and procedures. Promote and market the practicexe2x80x99s services, products and doctors as well as educate patients and address their questions and concerns. Partner with doctors, practice manager and support staff to maintain excellent patient service and integrity within the organization. Knowledge and understanding of dental terminology sufficient to perform the job successfully. Verify patient health history (basic review of anything that will impact their treatment) and make appropriate documentation in the chart. Accountability for successful performance of all job functions. Complete checklists as assigned. Maintain and order inventory as assigned. Monitor and inventory level of supplies. Participate and contribute to morning staff huddles. Clean and prepare operatory per guidelines prior to patient appointment. Sterilize equipment and operatories per OSHA guidelines. Assist staff in scheduling patientsxe2x80x99 follow up visits. Maintains annual OSHA, HIPPA and Infection control training as required by law. Occlusal assessment. Patient education on tooth movement sciences Pre-orthodontic therapies Clinical interventions to maintain healthy during orthodontic therapy Post-orthodontic considerations Daily oral hygiene methods and strategies specific to the orthodontic patient Assessment of oral health conditions Work with the orthodontist to meet the oral health needs of the patient. Educate and counsel children and adults on dental health, plaque control, oral hygiene and nutrition Deband appointments, placement or removal of lingual wires. Assist in removal of orthodontic appliances. Removing cement and other debris. Polishing teeth. Scaling when necessary.
