This is a great position for someone with dental experience who is ready for a different approach to helping patients and wants a new and more fulfilling career opportunity. This is not a typical assistant role- meaning that you will not be spending many hours sitting chairside assisting intra-oral procedures such as fillings, crowns, extractions etc. Instead, much of your time will be spent on the more medical- and very rewarding- side of treating our patients. Your dental skills will still be very useful in taking radiographs, giving instructions to patients, and assisting the doctor on comprehensive dental and TMJ exams. Your dental knowledge and experience will be beneficial in helping to keep notes organized and thorough. You will prepare patient operatories and equipment and assist doctors during examination and treatment, as well as disinfect and sterilize necessary environmental surfaces / devices/ instruments. Our dental assistants are critical members of the team and are also responsible for listening to the needs of the patient, providing patient education as needed, ensuring the patient is comfortable during procedures, and managing clinical supplies. Our offices are in Poquoson and Chesapeake. We are open Monday – Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and we are flexible with scheduling either full-time or part-time hours.
