The SUNY Cortland Duplicating Center seeks candidates for a full-time print operator and customer support representative/specialist/agent. The ideal candidate will be team-minded, friendly, motivated and detail-oriented to work in a fast-paced and growing print shop operation that serves the campus community. This position works Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Equipment and workflow/software training will be provided. Prepare billing of all recharges to campus departments/office/programs accurately and timely. Review all work order charges for accuracy and notify customers of corrections. At the end of each month, transfer totals to the Budget Office for recharges to each department. Operate all machines (including cutter and folding machines), box and ready production for pick up or shipment. Answer phones and job queue messages to help to answer any questions that clients might have about billing or copying; ensuring that the customer is satisfied. Execute simple maintenance and troubleshoot machine problems. Inform Manager of any problems, concerns, issues and/or areas that need attention. Responsible for updating paper and media inventory with the proper types and amounts of supplies and materials necessary for continuous Center operations. Operate and assist Manager with document scanning program and billing. Assist with the security of confidential materials. Assist with Central Stores packaging and fulfilling orders. Learn new office equipment and technology as product selection evolves. Functional and Supervisory Relationships Required Qualifications Appointment to this position could be a permanent competitive appointment or a permanent non-competitive appointment. 1. Permanent Competitive Appointment Options: The candidate must hold or have held the title of Office Assistant 1, or be reachable on the full-time NYS Civil Service list and respond to canvass letter that will be sent to people on the eligible list. 2. Non-Competitive Appointment Option: This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At this time, agencies may hire employees into temporary appointments. In May 2024, if the employee is satisfactorily performing, the appointment will be changed from temporary to permanent non-competitive and the official probationary period will begin. At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified. NON-COMPETITIVE QUALIFICATIONS-There is no minimum education or experience requirements for this title.
