Job Purpose or Objective(s): As the Ranch Assistant, you will assist the Ranch Manager/Ranch Supervisor implement the diversified operational plan consistent with the Choctaw Nation Agriculture Departmentxe2x80x99s overarching mission and strategic plan. You will report to the Ranch Manager. Primary Tasks: 1. You will provide supplemental feed, mineral and water to all livestock. 2. Assist with herd health, routine processing, calf pairing and transport activities. 3. Identify unhealthy animals, when needed, administer approved treatment program. 4. Monitor forage availability and assist grazing management/utilization efforts. 5. Perform routine (ex. chemical, mechanical and prescribed fire) pasture maintenance. 6. Provide property upkeep including fence repair/construction, mowing, trimming, litter removal, and painting) and security. 7. Operate farm equipment including tractor, skid steer, chute, and vehicles, safely and respectfully. 8. Maintain and review equipment logs, providing general maintenance when needed. 9. Perform other tasks as assigned. Job Requirement: Experience or knowledge of fence construction/repair, basic plumbing, excavation, road maintenance, brush control, hay and pasture management.)
