Registered Dental Hygienist – Traveling (Orlando)

Job Description ExcelHealth Group and its partnering dental company Marquis Mobile Dental Services provide onsite dentistry to residents in long-term care nursing facilities throughout the state. We are seeking a traveling Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team! Applicants should be comfortable traveling and prefer the relative autonomy this position provides. Self-directed, compassionate individuals will thrive in this position. Travel Distance: Throughout the state with a focus on the northern half of the state Schedule: Five (5) days a week Responsibilities and Duties Include (But are not limited to): Taking all reasonable methods to ensure patient comfort Providing dental health education about tooth care and diet Offering advice and encouragement to patients Removing plaque and calculus by scaling and polishing teeth Treating and helping prevent gingivitis and periodontitis Taking dental radiographs of teeth as required Applying prophylactic/antibacterial materials, fissure sealants and topical fluorides to help prevent tooth decay Carrying out screening and monitoring procedures Using a range of different dental instruments Ensuring that sterile conditions are maintained Cleaning and sterilizing all equipment and working surfaces to the required standards at the end of each session Following Health and Safety guidelines in all aspects including when taking x-rays, disposing of sharp and clinical waste, resuscitation, and emergency procedures Obeying all dental ethical guidelines including all rules on confidentiality and Data Protection Reporting equipment failures or breakages to the principle or practice manager, so that action may be taken to remedy any defects Following all practice policies and procedures Acting as a fill-in on the rare occasion for colleagues Qualifications and Skills A desire to work with the geriatric population on a daily basis, including a strong understanding of the dental and oral care required relating to this demographic Exceptional interpersonal verbal communication skills Friendly and outgoing demeanor Ability to build rapport with patients Knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new programs Ability to acquire malpractice insurance – reimbursed by the company Licensed in the state of Florida Benefits: Paid time off and paid holidays Health insurance premium reimbursement Continuing education related to licensing Malpractice and licensing reimbursement Hotel, fuel, and meal coverage following company policy with use of company credit card Annual scrub allowance Basic vehicle maintenance Sponsorship: Unavailable Relocation: Unavailable Background Checks: All employees are subject to a background check and pre-employment drug screening, including the FL Level 2 process that includes in-person fingerprinting.
