Full Time Summary of Responsibilities The Dental Hygiene department is accepting applications for an Assistant Clinical Professor who will be responsible providing instructional of dental hygiene to students and may have didactic, laboratory, and clinical teaching responsibilities in the entry level or completion degree of Bachelor of Science. This position will also serve as a mentor, peer counselor, and as a colleague for teaching and clinical projects. Other responsibilities include supporting the mission of the department, college, and the university; participating in faculty meetings, student recruitment and advising, curriculum development and review, and other departmental activities; developing and maintaining relationships with all program faculty; participating in department, college, university, community, and professional service; and monitoring and facilitating ethical and professional behaviors. Minimum Education Masters degree in dental hygiene or related field Minimum Experience One year dental hygiene clinical experience including periodontal therapy US Export Compliance Requirement N/A Knowledge, skills and abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to teach in a classroom whether face to face or on-line, laboratory and clinical environment Ability to use technology to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of instruction and the department Required Licenses, Certificates & Registrations Licensure in Kansas-Registered Dental Hygienist, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Local Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide Administration and Certificate Additional Information Location Wichita, KS – WSU Main Campus Salary Information Proposed Salary or Hourly Rate Commensurate with experience Eligible for Shift Differential? Yes Position Description Information Preferred Education Preferred Experience Documented effectiveness of clinical and/or teaching experience in a dental hygiene or related program Regular Hours of Work Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Environmental Factors Must be able to teach in the classroom whether face-to-face or online, laboratory and clinical environments. Typical risk associated with being a healthcare professional such as exposure to blood borne pathogens and infections disease.
