Position Title Dental Hygiene Receptionist FLSA Non-Exempt FT/PT Part Time Hours Per Week 20 Work Schedule Monday and Tuesday Position Salary Range General Responsibilities Open the Dental Hygiene suite each morning at start of clinic day Assist students in scheduling patient volunteer appointments Efficiently answer the phone and schedule patient volunteer appointments. Enter patient data into the computer, make note of any critical medical history questions and interpret through questioning what the patient expects from their visit to HCC dental hygiene program as a volunteer. Communicate the appointment times, length of appointment including that it may take multiple appointments and a possible range of fees for service. Assign the patient volunteer to a dental hygiene student; make any necessary notes and forward information to the supervising dentist if there are any issues concerning the patient volunteerxe2x80x99s medical history. Advise the patient volunteer that HCC dental hygiene program is a learning institution and that three are very limited services available at HCC dental hygiene program. Maintain a policy of confidentiality of all patient information and act responsibly and with courtesy. Meet and greet patient volunteers and provide necessary paperwork and/or guidance for filling out forms Receive patient volunteer vouchers for dental hygiene services Provide courtesy calls and appointment reminders to patient volunteers Ensure dental hygiene program reception area is clean and safe Willing to attend dental hygiene faculty & staff meetings Participate in course training as requested Run student reports using dental hygiene practice software Work Performed Work with dental hygiene students to schedule patients for clinical appointments. General receptionist duties.
